Ring paper material is usually chosen because these materials are very flexible and absorbent. The author also pointed out that the material with water absorption characteristics is easier to bond, which results in good bonding between the sealing ring paper, the ring frame and the cone. Only KaptonHPP and KaptonMTB skeleton materials should be treated with high adhesion. The more general KaptonHN materials are not treated, so the lower grade polyimide skeleton made in China will be very troublesome if there is no sealing paper in the adhesive low adhesive material, such as PP basin.
If the ring paper is water absorbent, then it cannot be compatible with the magnetic fluid, otherwise, the magnetic flow is absorbed into the sealing paper material, thereby changing the effective vibration quality and causing the property to be unstable at any time. However, good adhesion, but also do not have to insist on water absorption, there is a rough non absorbent pattern, the surface can also be good adhesion. The key is to find a good sealing paper which is compatible with magnetic fluid. It has both rough surface and non absorbent material. Ideally, non absorbent materials, such as IPT's TufQUIN, should be used.
The paper's flexibility (softness and flexibility) is very important because the sealing material must be attached to the two coil of the ring. If the ring paper material can not be firmly sealed, it is possible to have an approximate whistle noise when it is attached to the outlet line of the ring frame. In addition, the loose paper will provide a capillary path through which magnetic fluid may migrate out of the magnetic gap. In order to prevent the migration of the magnetic fluid between the coil lead and the sealing paper, the authors suggest that the two lead lines shall be bound with a self-adhesive adhesive and wrap the sealing paper to the length of the outgoing line.
